Welcome to the Shay House

We bought our 876 square foot home in 2020 and since then, I’ve made it my mission to make it cozy, charming, AND dog-friendly. But my love for interior design didn’t begin in 2020; Growing up, I was the kid who begged to rearrange my parents’ furniture, decorate my friends’ rooms, and constantly change up my own bedroom decor. I’ve always loved binging HGTV and sticking my nose into an interior design book. I am a big homebody, and decorating has always been my hobby and passion.

People often tell me “maybe I’d like being home if my house looked like yours” (actually, it’s mostly my mother-in-law who says this) and while this is the ultimate compliment, it makes me want to help others create a space they WANT to hang out in.

After much encouragement from my husband, family, friends (IRL and internet besties), I recently started my own interior design business to help others love where they live just like I do!

I’m an accountant by day, but after work you can find me finding cozy moments around the house with my high school sweetheart, Zack, redecorating our home (for the umpteenth time), or enjoying walks around our suburban neighborhood with our two dogs: a mutt named Charlie and a Dalmatian named Teddy.

I started sharing about our little house on Instagram in 2021, and on there you’ll find interior design tips, hygge moments, makeovers in our first home, and vintage home decor, all with my pup in mind. I’m also a wee bit obsessed with plants, and I’ve turned our bungalow into a “jungalow."

I love to capture the small moments in every day through photos and videos — from the curated to the unfiltered — and I also specialize in designing content to bring a brand’s vision to life!
